Naruto is a young shinobi with an incorrigible knack for mischief. He’s got a wild sense of humor, but Naruto is completely serious about his mission to be the world’s greatest ninja! It’s been two years since Naruto left to train with Jiraiya, and his first mission sends him to the Hidden Sand to help rescue Gaara. As both Gaara and Naruto come face to face with the Akasuki, Sakura takes her place at the front of the fight to save them. With Granny Chiyo at her side, she must battle Sasori, who can create golems from the undead. But Granny Chiyo is a puppet master too—only it could be Sakura’s strings she’s pulling!

Science of Synthesis provides a critical review of the synthetic methodology developed from the early 1800s to date for the entire field of organic and organometallic chemistry. As the only resource providing full-text descriptions of organic transformations and synthetic methods as well as experimental procedures, Science of Synthesis is therefore a unique chemical information tool. Over 1000 world-renowned experts have chosen the most important molecular transformations for a class of organic compounds and elaborated on their scope and limitations. The systematic, logical and consistent organization of the synthetic methods for each functional group enables users to quickly find out which methods are useful for a particular synthesis and which are not. Effective and practical experimental procedures can be implemented quickly and easily in the lab.// The content of this e-book was originally published in May 2007.

Spin Labeling

The Next Millennium

We present here the second issue devoted entirely to the spin-labeling technique as part of Biological Magnetic Resonance. Volume 14 commemorates a modifi- tion in our editorial policy with the retirement of my esteemed coeditor, Jacques Reuben. From thisjuncture into the future, each issue will focus on some special topic in magnetic resonance. Each volume will be organized in most cases by guest editors, for example forthcoming issues will address the following topics: in vivo magnetic resonance (P. Robitaille and L. J. Berliner, eds. ) Modern techniques in proton NMR ofproteins (R. Krishna and L. J. Berliner, eds. ) Instrumental techniques of EPR (C. Bender and L. J. Berliner, eds. ) Thecurrent volume, Spin Labeling: The NextMillennium, presents an excellent collection of techniques and applications that evolved during the past decade since the last volume, volume 8 (1989). Someobvious omissions, such as multiquantum EPR and very high-frequency FT-ESR were unfortunately not possible for this volume. Perhaps they will appear in Spin Labeling: 2001. Lastly it is a pleasure to honor two scientists whose contributions were both pioneering and pivotal to the spin label technique: Professor Eduard G. Rozantsev (Moscow), whose synthetic feats in nitroxyl chemistry set the broad stage for a versatile catalog of labels; and Professor Harden M. McConnell, last year's Int- national ESR (EPR) Society Gold Medalist, who conceived and developed the spin label technique to address many biological problems (proteins, enzymes, m- branes, cells, immune response, etc. ). New Drugs in Cancer Chemotherapy

The Analog Potential in Cancer Chemotherapy in the United States and Japan S. K. Carter Northern California Cancer Program, 1801 Page Mill Road, Building B, Suite 200, USA - Palo Alto, CA 94304 The bilateral collaborative program in cancer research between Japan and the United States is one of the oldest programs of this type. It is sponsored in the United States by the National Cancer Institute [1], while in Japan the sponsoring organization is the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science. Annual symposia concerning treatment have been held and in recent years they have been published [2, 3]. Drug development in both Japan and the United States has evolved over the years to an increasing emphasis on second generation compounds. This has come about as a result of the initial successes of chemotherapy development. Many active structures have been uncovered and the armamentarium of the medical and pediatric oncologist has grown dramatically. The uncovering of an active structure provides an opportunity for analog synthesis and attempts at elucidating structure-activity relationships. It is hoped that the therapeutic index of active structures can be improved so as to achieve superior clinical results.
