The Feldendrais Method is a revolutionary approach to health and fitness. Using what Dr. Moshe Feldenkrais called ”Awareness Through Movement,” people of any age or condition can learn to move more comfortably and effectively. In pleasant yet powerful ways, his method reawakens the natural process by which we as babies learned to crawl, walk, and talk. In the U.S. and Canada more than one thousand guild-certified practitioners teach the Feldenkrais Method.Awareness Heals is the first book to present the full benefits of the Feldenkrais Method in clear language. It details six basic lessons which help you to become more aware of how you breathe, sit, walk, and otherwise move. By sensing these natural actions, you grow more skillful and supple in all your movements. Through the Feldenkrais Method, you can learn to relieve pain, enhance flexibility, and recover from physical or emotional stress. The gentle movements in Awareness Heals are designed for practice at home and work, and even in your car. They fit into any program of fitness, exercise, or therapy. Most important, Feldenkrais lessons demonstrate that such problems as stiffness and stress do not require outside intervention—the remedy lies within each of us.
A Loving Path to Spiritual Awakening and Freedom from Suffering
Author: Michael A. Rodriguez
Publisher: New Harbinger Publications
Suffering is part of the human experience, and everyone in the world is seeking relief. But there is something greater, something that we all share, indeed something that we all are, that can alleviate that pain: it is the formless presence—the loving, boundless awareness—at the heart of all experience. This book cuts through the esotericism surrounding spiritual awakening to help you realize your true nature and show you how to integrate that realization into everyday life. In life, there is turmoil and inevitable pain. There is war, hunger, failure, heartbreak, and trauma. We struggle in relationships and with our attachments, thoughts, feelings, and memories, trapped in the prison of psychological self-consciousness. Most of us have been conditioned to believe that we are all separate individuals to whom uncomfortable or upsetting things happen. We feel alone and isolated from the world, and convince ourselves that the beauty, truth, and goodness we long for are out of our reach. Really, it’s this imaginary division that causes us to suffer. Boundless Awareness seeks to relieve this suffering by drawing attention to the beautiful, encompassing, cohesive nature of awareness itself, as found in your direct experience. Using practical, contemplative exercises and brief meditations, the author guides you along a broad path of spiritual awakening, deconstructing your delusions of self and separation and integrating a concept of existence that is free from the suffering of individual selfhood, but which acknowledges the attachments, traumatic experiences, and emotional pain of being human. With this book, you’ll come to realize your innate perfection as the uncreated light of boundless awareness, and soften into the open, spacious, and unconditionally loving essence of existence. You’ll gain a deeper understanding of pain and attachments, and learn to meet these experiences with a new resilience. Most importantly, you’ll find guidance on how to embody and express this awakening as love, joy, service, and creativity in your daily life.

The "mental health" professions are responsible for creating and maintaining a folie a deux or shared public delusion that their intention is to heal. On close inspection, we see that the primary function of "mental health" professionals is to serve as moral arbiters of human behavior. The legislature has granted clinical psychology and psychiatry the legal rights to define certain behaviors as "mental illness." Behaviors are defined as "mental illness," by morally tinged personal (clinical) opinion. Cleverly hidden from the public, is the fact that the concept of "mental illness" has never been established by rigorous science to qualify as an "illness" or disease. The concept of "mental illness" continues to be created or invented by selected moral judgments and committee discussions, not science. Healing Personal Psychology presents an historical line of development of psychology and psychiatry from its roots in 19th Century German authoritarianism and oppression to the present state of the field, where little has changed. The clinical gaze is the bedrock of the professions. Therein lies the failure of the "mental health" professions to effectively heal. Mainstream clinical psychology and psychiatry, by their very natures, engage in some of the most repressive practices in modern society. Supporting the thesis of this failure with factual references, we are taken on an experiential journey through the system to see the devastation "mental health" treatment has caused by the creation of disease, including central nervous system, motor neuron, and organ diseases, found in different studies to range between 10%-75% of all those treated. Not to mention the personal ruin caused for millions of people every year, by effectively eliminating their freedom of choice to engage in a pleasurable life existence. Strategic change exercises, effective in healing a range of serious difficulties, are presented as a solution to this devastation. Valuable resources for healing from surprising sources are illustrated, with references for daily practice. The author brings more than 30 years of experience to bear in pointing towards a healthy way out. This book can be utilized by professionals and the public, both as an instructive textbook on alternative healing approaches for psychosis, depression, anxiety, fears, phobias, obsessive or compulsive behaviors, trauma or post-traumatic related difficulties, and as a resource that documents the system of oppression and inconsistent level of competence in the clinical psychology and psychiatry professions.
Taken from the original manuscript for the course, the only editing that has been done to this great spiritual classic has been to correct occasional typographic and spelling errors and to render capitalization and punctuation consistent.
