The award-winning Uplift novels comprise one of the greatest achievements in science fiction history. Dramatic, thought-provoking, and inventive, these books describe a fully realized world rich in character, detail, and ideas. Here, too, is a history of Earth’s contact and challenging interactions with the mysterious and powerful Civilization of Five Galaxies, a look at its institutions, languages, and customs, plus a time line of momentous events going back 3 billion years. For the millions of fans of the Uplift novels, this long-awaited guide will be an essential reference work, filled with vital information and never-before-seen illustrations that reveal, for the first time in one volume, the keys to the ambitious vision and bold speculation of the Uplift universe. From the Trade Paperback edition.
In the third book in the series, young Alien Agent Zack Gaither is sent to Mongolia to liaise with his fellow agent Vraj, whom we met in Camp Alien. Vraj’s people, the Tirgizians, are exploring the area for evidence of dinosaurs, whom the Tirgizians believe to be their long-lost ancestors. Enter the Kaipa Kapa Syndicate, a mixture of bad guys, including the Gnairts who’d previously tried to kill Zack and Vraj. The syndicate kidnaps the Tirgizians, and with the help of two local Mongolian kids, Zack and Vraj manage to free them and avoid being discovered.
Zack knows he's not a normal kid. He's really an alien agent-in-training, brought to Earth to help guide the planet into the Galactic Union. Aliens follow him to a ritzy summer camp, where he's hooked up with Vraj, a huge, dinosaur-like creature on her first-ever assignment. Their mission: To get back a bunch of alien Duthwi eggs that, if hatched, can harm Earth. Their problem: Lots of eggs, too little time, and those bad guys are still after them. So what's a young alien to do?
Our Hopes and Fears about Encountering Extraterrestrials
Author: Michael Michaud
Publisher: Springer Science & Business Media
This book describes a wide variety of speculations by many authors about the consequences for humanity of coming into contact with extraterrestrial intelligence. The assumptions underlying those speculations are examined, and some conclusions are drawn. The book emphasizes the consequences of contact rather than the search, and takes account of popular views. As necessary background, the book also includes brief summaries of the history of thinking about extraterrestrial intelligence, searches for life and for signals, contrasting paradigms of how contact might take place, and the paradox that those paradigms allegedly create.

In Liquid Cool Book 5 its Alien Meets Blade Runner…It’s I, Alien Hunter! Liquid Cool, the action-packed (and funny), cyberpunk detective series continues. Our private detective, Cruz, has dealt with all kinds of criminal crazies—full human, cyborgs and robots—and even crazier clients. But he has never had to deal with…extraterrestrials. Is this case more than a missing persons? Have humans on the Main Asteroid Belt between Mars and Jupiter actually found proof of alien life from another world? What does it all have to do with a missing scientist? “I’m a detective, not a secret agent,” Cruz says. But never has he faced so much danger from forces on Earth and beyond in the 50-million, supercity of Metropolis—a gritty, ever-rainy, futuristic world of colossal skyscrapers, hovercars, and flashy neon streets. This time besides the action, thrills, and laughs Author Austin Dragon brings us Spacemen, Martians, meteors, androids, and possibly… a killer alien. Welcome to the high-tech, low-life world of Liquid Cool.
